I know too many amazing women— I could write a book about all of ’em.
Recently, I saw a friend get like a billion happy birthday comments, which isn’t that crazy, especially when some peeps have a thousand-plus friends. Rather, it was the CONTENT of the posts that got me: So many of this girl’s friends gushed about how she’s one of the most special, amazing people in their lives… the kind of girl whose existence makes the lives of everyone around her brighter.
These sentiments reminded me of my speech for Kerry at her wedding, the gist of it centered around a joke I made about dealing with her birth, as the older, jealous, cranky sibling — WHY was the earth suddenly revolving around her?
The “punchline” of my speech was that the earth does, in fact, revolve around my sister because she is the bright light, the warmth, in so many lives, especially mine.
…Ya, know, like the sun. And where would we be without the sun?
Where would we be without warm, bright lights like my sister??
Life would be dark, sad, worthless without the Kerrys of this world.

My name is Suzanne Jacobetz, aka The Cursing Gourmet, and I am Bridget’s older (not necessarily wiser) cousin. I’m Generation X all the way and do not enjoy it when I hear 80s/90s rock on classic rock stations. I live in the mountains in Colorado with Mike, my husband of 10 years, 15+ miles from a grocery store. It’s a very quiet, peaceful life, or at least it used to be: a year ago we had our first kiddo, a sweetie pie named Isabelle ❤️
